Equipment Parking Structure

The purpose of the project was to erect a new 3,200 SF covered parking shelter behind the mobile switch center located in Helena, Montana. Helena presents an extreme winter climate that is rough on exterior emergency equipment. The new parking structure helps keep emergency equipment protected from the elements.

One difficulty we faced was the timeline for project completion. We started the project in October and we were able to complete all concrete foundations, underground electrical, flatwork and asphalt paving before winter temperatures prevented excavations. Timely completion of the underground allowed us to finish the remainder of the structure during harsh winter months without delays due to weather. This accomplishment allowed the client to utilize their winter conditions allowance budget for other much needed facility improvements.

Other upgrades include a complete building security upgrade with a new vehicular slide gate, LED site lighting, charging stations for trailered equipment, repairs to the faulty heat trace system on the main building gutters, and various mechanical and electrical repairs to faulty equipment with the main building and an adjacent storage building.
