Wireline Roof Replacement
This project consists of the removal of an existing modified bitumen roof system with a new single-ply EPDM roof system over a live network switch. The removal and replacement was phased so that the roof was completely dried in at the end of each shift.
While removing the existing roof, XEC uncovered damage to existing roof curbs and chilled water lines that was not originally included in the project scope of work. This work required XEC to bring on additional vendors in a timely fashion. This was accomplished without affecting the schedule of the overall roof install.
This project also included the installation of a new lightning protection system that was UL master label certified, and replacement of existing sheet metal copings and counterflashings. XEC was able to reuse the existing sheet metal coping, saving the owner money, which was then applied to the unforeseen repairs.
